Before the first chapter is written, a coherent world needs to be built. I provide the foundational documents for an original science fiction or fantasy setting.

The work format includes a brief call (30 minutes) to understand your world concept, followed by written communication via shared document. To begin, you provide your story concept, key themes, any existing world elements and your target audience. The guide avoids infodumps by framing everything through how it affects daily life and story potential. You’ll receive a comprehensive style guide that details the rules of your world: its technology or magic system, social hierarchies, key factions, geography and cultural touchstones, totaling approximately 5,000 to 8,000 words. I also write three short vignettes set in this world, each from a different character’s perspective (approximately 300 to 500 words per vignette), to demonstrate how the setting influences narrative and voice.

The deliverable is a living document, not a static encyclopedia. It’s provided as a beautifully formatted PDF and as an editable template with linked databases, making it easy for you to expand and modify as your project grows. This systematic approach prevents plot holes and ensures consistency, whether you’re developing a novel, a game or a series of stories. I use principles from textbook creation and game design to make complex information accessible and useful for actual writing, not just background decoration. The process includes two revision rounds to refine the worldbuilding elements or adjust the vignettes. There is no limit on iterations within these two revision rounds.
