My studio is built around recording real instruments – fingerpicked guitars, gentle mandolin, soft piano and double bass – to create authentic acoustic beds for non-fiction storytelling. This isn’t synthetic library music. It’s recorded, organic sound that adds depth and warmth to documentary scenes, podcast intros or heartfelt brand stories. You get a custom two to three minute instrumental piece, plus pre-edited thirty-second and sixty-second versions ready for standard ad slots or recurring segments. All final mixes come as broadcast WAV files and MP3s. I also include the individual instrument stems, giving an editor the power to subtly underscore a narrator without competition or build emotion by bringing elements in and out. The approach is narrative. A simple guitar motif might represent a subject’s journey, while a cello line introduces a moment of reflection. I’ve scored over fifty documentary projects and podcast series, learning how music should support a voice without overwhelming it. Think of the subtlety in the scoring for a nature documentary or a true-crime series – the music frames the story, it doesn’t tell it. This works for filmmakers, podcast producers and non-profit organizations looking for music that feels genuine and connects on a human level.
